It is 25 minutes east of the Brisbane CBD.
What to Bring
We suggest you bring the following, depending on the length of your trip:
> a towel
> a well-fitting cap or hat, that won’t blow off in the wind (and maybe a spare),
> sunglasses and sunscreen
> a collared shirt to keep the sun off
> a swimming costume and towel.
> a pair of white-soled shoes such as deck shoes or trainers but no hard black soles please, as they mark the deck.
> alcohol. We are BYO. We do not allow red wine onboard due to straining risk.
We have onboard:
> a spray jacket for each guest
> a snorkelling set for each guest
> seasickness tablets for those sensitive to motion sickness
> comprehensive first aid kit
> fully equipped kitchen, oven, gas range, BBQ and bar equipment.
> two fridges, one for food and a large chest fridge for drinks. Ice is not needed.
Car Parking
There is ample free, public car parking around the marina. Parking is available on Fairlead Crescent, further along where it turns into Trafalgar St, or in the carpark off Wyvernleigh Close. See the map below. Because of markets on the Manly foreshore on Saturday and Sunday mornings, you might have a bit of a walk back to the marina. It usually works best to drop your supplies and passengers off at the marina and then one person parks each car and walks back. We have trollies to get your supplies to the yacht from there.
Joining the Yacht
Your charter will leave from the William Gunn Jetty, Wyvernleigh Close unless you have arranged an alternate pick-up, in which case your confirmation email will provide the pick-up details.
Please arrive 20 minutes before the scheduled time of departure and call your skipper on the number provided in your booking confirmation.
Wait at the entrance to William Gunn Jetty, shown on the map above. The Tide on the Jetty Cafe is just beyond there on the jetty and a good place to get a coffee or drink if you arrive early. The skipper will collect you from there. It is a short walk to the yacht from there.
Breakfast, Coffee or Supplies
A selection of soft drinks, juices, mineral and plain water are provided complimentary on Curlew Escape plus any food you have arranged for your charter.
Manly cafes and village bakery are 100m from the jetty. Start you journey with a cafe meal, or pick up picnic supplies the morning of your charter. Restaurants and quintessential Australian pubs await for a perfect end your escape. The nearby IGA opens at 6am.
Tide Cafe on William Gunn Jetty, the pickup point, provides great coffees to get you started.
